Ever since Discord became integrated with platforms like Xbox and Sony PlayStation, gamers’ lives have gotten much easier. After linking your Discord and your Xbox accounts, you can let everyone you’re friends with on Discord know what you’re up to at the moment in your activity section.
However, even though Discord can be linked to your Xbox, all features that are available on the Desktop app, are not available on Xbox, such as voice chat, text messaging, creating groups and parties.
The point of the integration between Xbox and Discord was to enable users to share on Discord what game they’re playing at a given moment, and consequently bring friends together based on the games of their choice.
Unfortunately, it’s yet not possible for you to stream your game on Discord from your Xbox console. In order to stream on Discord, you’ll need to be logged in from your PC.
The process of linking both accounts is extremely simple, and we’ll guide you through the process. After the streaming feature becomes available, this article will be updated.
An important note before we go into the steps of connecting both accounts, you won’t be able to create a Discord account beforehand if you don’t have one, since creating an account is not an available option on the Xbox Discord app.
The process of linking both accounts needs to be done using both the Discord app and your Xbox.
In order to verify your identity, and confirm you own both accounts that are about to be linked, a PIN code will show up on the TV screen where your Xbox is connected. Enter the PIN from the screen into the Discord app, and the Discord integration with your Xbox will be finished.
Many users started having second thoughts whether the linking of the accounts is worth it, especially since the streaming feature is not available.
However, once your accounts have been linked, you’ll be able to connect to your friends on a new platform, and additionally make new friends based on the game of your choice.
