You have been using Netflix for so long, and you are familiar with most of the Netflix features, but you still don't know how to change your Netflix subscription.
Well, no worries because we are here to tell you all about Netflix options that allow users to change their subscription plan and limit or expand the watching options to more or fewer devices.
Netflix users can choose between a few plans that the streaming platform offers - Basic plan, Standard plan, and Premium plan.
Depending on the plan, users will receive a certain movie's quality, resolution, and available devices on which they can watch.
How to change the Netflix subscription?
The good news is that the company allows upgrading, downgrading, or canceling the account any time users want to change it without any additional commitment to the platform.
Here is the step-by-step guide on how to change your Netflix subscription:
- Log in to your Netflix account.
- Hover over your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Select 'Account' from the drop-down menu.
- Under 'Plan Details', select 'Change Plan'.
- Choose Basic, Standard, or Premium, then select 'Continue' or 'Update'.
If you are upgrading your account, Netflix will allow you to start using the newly added features right away, and if you are downgrading your account the account limitation will start the next month.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the billing date will change based on the date you decide to change your subscription plan. You can cancel your subscription any time you wish.
Differences between plans options
As mentioned above, the main difference between the plans is in the video quality, the resolution, and the number of devices that can be active all at once.

The Basic plan allows watching movies from a maximum of one device at a time. The Standard plan allows watching from up to two devices, and the Premium plan allows watching movies from a maximum of four devices at once.
How to Change Your Netflix Plan Subscription via iPhone
If you are using an iPhone, you may be paying for the Netflix services via iTunes. You can use this software to change or cancel your Netflix subscription. Anyways, those users who became Netflix members prior 5/10/2014 have to cancel their accounts first and then select a new payment method after their billing date.
If you want to change your Netflix plan subscription on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod, follow these couple of steps:
- Open your Netflix application on your mobile and log in with your username and password.
- Once you see the home screen, choose the 'Settings' icon.
- Next, you need to tap on your user name and then open iTunes & App Store.
- Find your Apple ID and tap on it to see it and if asked, log in with your Apple credentials.
- Choose 'Subscriptions' to view them all and find Netflix on the list.
- Pick the plan you want to switch to and tap on 'Confirm' in the pop-up. dialogue box.
- Now, you will be able to see your new subscription plan on your account.
Note: iTunes might ask you to log into it again before you confirm the change. When doing this, you have to be sure that you are using the right Apple ID. If you don’t see Netflix in the Subscriptions section, you must go to the official Netflix website and make plan subscription changes.
