‘Featured Photo’ was a feature introduced by Facebook a while back that allowed users to share their favorite photos in a separate part of their profiles.

Users could share the most memorable moments captured and post them on their profiles for all to see, including those who are not on their Facebook friends list.

This solely aroused many privacy concerns, and users started wondering if they could make the featured section private.

Unfortunately, Facebook featured photos are public, and there is no way to hide or restrict them to friends only.

Users can only delete or edit the featured albums.

To learn more about this option, keep on reading.

Featured photos were duplicates of the ones users had already posted on their profiles but did not share the same like count.

The photos published in the featured section were not shared on their Timeline or News Feed, and users were also able to edit or delete them.

Facebook had upgraded the Featured photos option into a Featured collection that gives the featured album photos a story-like format. So, besides adding photos to the featured collection, users can now add their favorite stories and make a collection.

The difference between the Facebook stories and the Featured collection is that the photos in the featured collection are not expiring after 24 hours, meaning that you can keep them on your profile as long as you wish.

However, no matter how the featured photos are formatted, some users still have privacy concerns and wonder whether they can make the section private.

As previously mentioned, users are able to edit or delete the photo collections posted on their profiles.

Because featured photos cannot be private, the only way for users to hide them from their profiles is to delete them entirely.

Users can delete individual photos or full-featured collections from their profiles.

When users remove a photo from the featured section, that does not delete the original photo. The original photo will remain on the profile and stay visible to the audience users have previously chosen for the photo.
