How to Hide Posts from Someone on Instagram

Perhaps, you have broken up with someone and you don’t want that person to keep track of your Instagram life but you also don’t want to delete your posts forever.
Note: There is no direct way for you to hide your posts from certain followers, however, there are settings you can adjust to hide your story, limit the posts you see and control whether just friends or the whole public can see the posts you share.
Also, you can make your account private, mute some followers or even block someone. Actually, when you mute someone it reduces the number of posts you see on your feed.

How to hide posts from someone on Instagram

There are two simple and most used methods that you can utilize to hide your posts from certain Instagram followers. Keep on reading to check out what they are.
- Choose the option 'Close Friends' when sharing your story
This is one way to restrict who sees your Insta posts so when you share your Insta story, choose the option ‘Close Friends’. It is the green round circle with a white star that allows you to select the people from your Instagram close friends list to see that particular story post.
- Temporarily mute followers
If you temporarily mute some of your followers, you will not see their Instagram stories and posts in your profile feed. So, if you want to try this option, check out the simple steps mentioned below.
- Open the Instagram app on your mobile device and log in with your Instagram credentials.
- In the search bar, tap to type in the follower name/username that you want to hide.
- Once you find the person, tap to open their profile.
- Next, in the top right corner, you will see three dots. Tap on that and you will see several options.
- Tap on ‘Mute’ but you can also either mute posts, mute story or mute the posts and story to stop this user’s posts or stories from showing up on your profile feed.
Quick Note: The person that you muted won’t know that you muted them and you will still be able to see some of that user’s post on their profile page.
