People asked and Instagram delivered.

The social media platform has finally incorporated the hot carousel deletion option that gives users the ability to delete a single image out of the carousel. Additionally, Instagram announced one more feature called “Rage Shake”. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced the pleasant surprise on November 17, 2021, via a Twitter video.

In the video, Mosseri explained that for now, the carouse deletion option is available for iOS users only, and Android users will have it soon. Furthermore, the “Rage Shake” option is available for both iOS and Android users but for the U.S. only.

The rest of the world will have to wait a bit.

A long-awaited Instagram feature has finally come up!

Users can now delete a single image of an Instagram carousel.

Up until recently, Instagram didn’t support this function, and for many users, the deletion of an entire carousel because of one single image was a frustrating experience.

Therefore, the company implemented this feature to allow users to delete images from carousels and improve the experience they have with the app.

Here is how to do it:

  1. Navigate to the carousel you want to edit
  2. Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner
  3. Tap on “Edit
  4. Swipe to the photo you want to edit and click on the bin icon in the top left corner
  5. Tap “Delete

How to report a problem using Instagram “Rage Shake”?

In case you have encountered an issue with the app, you can now report it and get all your rage out by shaking the phone and sending feedback.

Instagram already has a problem reporting feature - "Did something go wrong?", which you can access from the Settings menu under Help > Report a problem.

However, Mosseri explained that the "Rage Shake" feature will allow users to quickly inform the company about any problems they may face on the app, making it easier to flag an issue without going through the settings menu.

The up and down motion will cause a window to pop up where you can press the report a problem now button and write everything that has been bothering you.

The “Rage Shake” is not a novelty amongst tech apps. As a matter a fact, Facebook has incorporated this feature years ago and allowed its users to send shake reports every time they come across a bug on their platform. Snapchat also allows users to shake their phones to report an issue.

These two new features are launched as Instagram has been rolling out several other new features in the past couple of weeks.
