Netflix allows you to stay signed in to any device you sign into so you can easily access your favorite content at any time and any place. You can use your smartphone, tablet, laptop or TV to sign into Netflix and enjoy great shows.
People that have Roku TV know how easy and simple it is to download the Netflix app, log in with your credentials and start streaming.
But sometimes it happens that we don’t want to have our Netflix account logged into all devices it’s been signed into — either because of the limit of how many devices can be logged in to the account at a time, or perhaps you temporarily logged in on a friend's Roku, you are changing account or because we don’t want someone else to change our recommendations or watch list.
Whatever the reason, follow the quick steps below to log out of your Netflix account from Roku TV. The steps for logging out of Netflix on Roku TV are more or less similar, although older Roku models, like the Roku 1 and 2, have a slightly different process than newer ones.
This is how to sign out of Roku TV whichever model you have.
Tip: If you are having trouble finding the options to sign out of Netflix, you can use the remote button sequence on your Roku TV to sign out:
At the final step, choose Sign out, Start Over, Deactivate, or Reset.
To sign out of Netflix on Roku 2, you need to remove the channel completely.
Tip: You can also use the Roku mobile app to remove Netflix.
When you remove Netflix from your Roku 2, it is automatically deactivated in your Netflix account as well. If you want to add Netflix and reauthorize your Roku device, you can do it at any time.
To sign out of Netflix on Roku 1, you need to deactivate the device in your Netflix account.
If for some reason, you don’t have access to the Roku device, or all the above steps don’t work for you - don’t worry! There are two other alternative ways you can sign out of Netflix on Roku.
If you don’t own the Roku device, you can sign out of Netflix from all logged-in devices with the Sign Out of All Devices option.
Note: Unfortunately, Netflix doesn’t allow you to select specific devices to sign out of, you have to sign out all of them at once. But on the bright side, you will successfully sign out from the Roku device, and you can sign back into the other devices you wish to be logged into.
If the Roku device is your (originally set up under your account), but for whatever reason, you can’t sign out of Netflix, you can try disconnecting your entire Roku account from the device. This will essentially log you out of Netflix (and everything else you might be logged in to).
This step will unlink the device from your Roku account, so all the apps you've added to it will no longer be available. So if anyone tries to use it, they will need to log in to their own Roku account, and ultimately their own Netflix account if they so choose.
To do this:
If you notice some unusual activity on your Netflix account, check if it has been hacked and what to do to get it back.
