Google Home is a really handy personal assistant with which you can connect all your smart devices in your home.

When you connect your devices to Google Home, you can control them via the Google Home app or voice command.

To be able to do all this, your Google Home needs to be connected to Wi-Fi. And if you change your Wi-Fi network, you’ll need to manually change the connection in your Google Home app as well.

What happens when you change the Wi-Fi on Google Home

Also, keep in mind that for Google Home to be able to control your smart home devices, they need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi. So, if you change the Wi-Fi settings on the Google Home speaker, you’ll need to change them on all the smart devices you want it to control.

Even changing a home speaker to a guest Wi-Fi can cause trouble controlling other devices in your home. This feature is convenient in case you have multiple home speakers in various locations, for example, a vacation home. It also prevents other family members from accidentally activating other devices.

If one of those smart devices is a Ring video doorbell, read how to add it to Google Home and make it work.
