It is evident that the sandbox video game Minecraft just continues to reach new levels of popularity. Tailored to play with friends, this game is available in two editions, the JavaScript and the Bedrock edition.

If you were using the JavaScript version for playing Minecraft, cross-platform play is only available on some devices.

On the other hand, in the Bedrock version, if you have added a friend, you can easily play with them and not worry about which system they play.

How to accept a friend request on Minecraft Java

You can accept a friend request in Minecraft once you see the message that you received a friend request. These are the steps on how to check that.

1. Launch Minecraft on your PC as usual.
2. Make sure you are logged in with your Microsoft account.
3. Select the friends' list from the home menu.
4. You will see a message saying “You have received a friend request” - click on it.

Once you do that, you will see a list of all the friend requests that were sent to you.

How to add friends on Minecraft

For those that are using the Bedrock edition, the steps to add friends on Minecraft and actually invite them into your world are the following:

1. First, make sure you are logged in with your Microsoft account - create a free Microsoft account if you don’t have one already.
2. Launch Minecraft.
3. Click on Sign in with a Microsoft account.
4. Once you have launched your game and entered the world, open the in-game settings menu.
5. Choose the option “Invite to Game”

6. From the new window, choose the option “Find Cross-Platform Friends”.
   You can search for a friend using their Minecraft ID or their Microsoft Gamertag.

7. Choose the option “Add Friend”.

1. Lastly, check the box to select the friend you want to add and click on “Send 1 Invite”.

Now all you have to do is wait till the other person accepts your request/invite and once they do that, they can join you in your Minecraft world. Also, when they are online, they will show up under “Online Friends”
